June 2024 was quite a month. Mandarin Oriental, Mayfair & Akira Back I was one of the first members of the public to see the flawless Mandarin Oriental. Mayfair, was presented with one of their Vivienne Westwood fans & loved trying an Akira Back kimchi croissant. A Prestfelde Reunion on a Boat & a 50th Birthday Celebration on a Canal Boat I attended a Prestfelde Prep School reunion on a boat on the River Seven and was also part of an unbelievable 50th birthday celebration on a London canal boat. The Ruinart champagne bottle cake for the later was beyond belief. Mum Has Some Astonishing Friends During my time in Shrewsbury that month, mum & I visited some of her friends. While touring their breathtaking gardens, and talking about flowers, some of mum's memories of our previous homes came back that I thought were lost forever. Life is so Fragile. We are not Promised a Tomorrow so Give it Everything You Have Got It was a month when I leant Julian Lewis-Booth died of a heart attack. He was in my year at Shrewsbury School and Kenny Ng, him and I reconnected over a lunch during COVID-19. He had only recent dealt with his mother's death and leaves a wife & two sons. He was a true gentleman and a kind & caring friend. A Police Report It was also the month where I had to make a police report to West Mercia Police about a verbal assault by the neighbour of mum's mentioned in my April 2024 post. My time at Mandarin Oriental, Mayfair, and the feeling I did everything I could for mum, definitely, made it a '7 teddies' (🐻🐻🐻🐻🐻🐻🐻) month. Hope you enjoy the photos of a very special 50th birthday celebration etc. Tip: try Jeremy King's latest London opening 'The Park' for breakfast, with its ''free' coffee refills. | |
