| Following in the footsteps of Elizabeth Taylor, Christian Dior & the former Shah of Iran, we went to stay on Contadora in The Pearl Islands in Panama. While a whale was spotted during our crossing, Contadora was a sad example of what closure of hospitality venues, and lack of maintenance during this period, can do in a tropical climate. The island is used as a base for the 'Survivor' TV series in The Pearl Islands and so we were surrounded by staff working on this show during our meals. Sailing on the Panama Canal was a complete contrast. A dream come true for me, a true '7 teddy' experience and brought a tear to my eye thinking how much my dad would have loved this experience.
