I needed a manicure & pedicure and learning the Ritz-Carlton on Grand Cayman has a 20,000 square foot La Prairie spa made it the obvious choice.
The spa is called 'Silver Rain' and is themed around the "healing waters of Switzerland". I associate La Prairie products with sophisticated luxury and that is exactly how I would sum up this 'sanctuary spa' with excellent staff.
It was the perfect experience for me to relax after a busy day at work in Cayman Islands, with Annie's gentle technique and Martin talking about Ritz-Carlton Doha.
The Welcome The dramatic crystal entrance lobby, designed by D'Aquino Monaco, is meant to resemble an Alpine glacier and there was a beautiful warm Cayman Islands welcome from the staff. Locker Rooms/Facilities I arrived 30 minutes early to use the facilities. Martin showed me around and brought me a La Prairie branded robe and slippers. The lockers are covered with polyester lacquer to mimic water carved rock and the towels are all also La Prairie branded. I used the steam room and chatted to some other guests and the 30 minutes were over before I knew it. 'Silver Haven' Relaxation Lounge Martin then took me to the 'Silver Haven' relaxation lounge where I had water infused with mint and we chatted about the fact Martin used to work at Ritz-Carlton Doha, when I was living in Qatar. Annie and the Manicure & Pedicure Then I met Annie. Such a charming and sweet lady and a shame she has to leave Cayman Islands next year over the vesting of her pension. Her technique was so gentle and such a contrast with Four Seasons Doha. No pain, silky La Prairie products and exfoliation followed by hot towels. It all felt heavenly. She ended up buffing my nails to a perfect sheen that I am still impressed by. 🐻🐻🐻🐻🐻🐻🐻 (7 out of 5 ‘teddies’) - the stunning facilities, meeting Martin, Annie's incredible technique and the La Prairie products made this a '7 teddy' experience. My tip:- arrive early and talk to the incredible Ritz-Carlton staff, you will not regret this!!! |
