We started the evening with cocktails in COMO The Treasury in the former Treasury Buildings in Perth. This minimalist uber luxury hotel is Singapore owned but reminds me of Rocco Forte hotels. The waiter who served us was English, had a great sense of humour and they made perfect dry Grey Goose martinis. Then we went to Petition in the same building complex for burgers. This place is industrial chic and packed with young customers. Our burgers were excellent but I made the mistake of ordering some pigs' ears to try, never again. The concert was by the West Australia Symphony Orchestra and featured Beethoven's Piano Concerto No 1 and Mahler's First Symphony. Ms Ingrid Fliter was on piano and Mr Asher Fisch conducting. Beethoven's jubilant music was a joy to listen to, Ms Fliter brilliant and Mahler's First Symphony spellbinding. We started with Blumine and ended with me being mesmerised by the guy with the cymbals. 5 out of 5 'teddies' for a perfect evening. |
