The Mandarin Oriental in New York has its lobby on the 35th floor. I found this an irritant when staying there but loved the panoramic views when having breakfast. I was welcomed by charming Julien (Assistant Director of F&B). We chatted about my visit to the Mandarin in Hong Kong. As a single diner I was not given a window table and I noticed the orchids on the tables were looking tired. I was not at the Oriental in Bangkok now. Breakfast started with a complimentary smoothy shot and then I had the steak & eggs. Everything was cooked perfectly and delicious. 🐻🐻🐻🐻 (4 out of 5 ‘teddies’) - the staff and views were excellent. The tired orchids on the table lost it a 'teddy'. My tips: make sure you chat to Julien and try to get a window table. |
