After dinner in Khaiphaen, a brilliant restaurant run by the TREE Alliance, a charity that helps 'street kids', I headed to Icon Klub bar for a second time.

| The Bar This is a tiny bar that Lisa now, effectively, runs alone. It was closing for a period the day after my visit because Lisa had to go to Siem Reap for a few weeks. Lisa the Owner & Mixologist Lisa makes perfect cocktails and it is rare to find a bar person who cares so much about whether the customer has enjoyed their cocktail. She is a fascinating lady who has so many interests. The second evening we were there we listening to a recording of her 16 year old daughter singing jazz, that young lady is mesmerisingly good. Talk in the Bar & 'Games' On my second visit to the bar I got to talk to a Jewish lady from New York who was taking a young Buddhist monk to visit his family the next day. I discussed the 6:15am Luang Prabang Buddhist monk alms giving (Tak Bat) ceremony (which I was present for the next day) with her and Lisa. After this discussion, I decided to observe, rather than take part, despite the 'Buddhist instruction' I received at Four Seasons Sayan in Bali from a former Buddhist nun. We ended my second evening in the bar with an English guy, a lady from Northern California and me picking cards from Lisa's 'dream card' box, where you get a famous quote and decide if it applies to you. There are few bars in the world quite like Lisa's. 🐻🐻🐻🐻🐻🐻🐻 (7 out of 5 ‘teddies’) - only Four Seasons Koh Samui has ever earned 7 'teddies' before, which demonstrates what a special place Icon Klub is and how much I adore Lisa.
