A meeting with John Beier (General Manager of the Hudson hotel) in New York last year reignited my interest in this group of hotels Ian Schrager founded, and which were the first 'boutique hotels' of their kind. During my discussions Anne Golden's name has often come up in relation to the London hotels.
Meeting Anne Golden (Regional Vice President, Operations & Development)
On 1 December 2016 I finally got to meet Anne Golden. We talked about my visit to the Amy Sacco's 'members only' 'Bungalow 8' in St Martins Lane (which used to be under the 'Light Bar' and the New York 'branch' was featured in 'Sex and the City'); my 'Mad Hatter's Afternoon Tea' at the Sanderson with the mother of my godson last year, it was created for the launch of Tim Burton's 'Alice in Wonderland' in 2010 but still feels such a fresh idea; Morgans Hotel Group's plans for a Doha hotel next year; the 'Ian Schrager yellow' still used in the hotel etc. It was so great to meet this cheerful, friendly and very special lady.
🐻🐻🐻🐻🐻🐻🐻 (7 out of 5 ‘teddies’) - meeting Anne Golden was definitely a "7 teddy' experience. She is a fascinating lady with the sort of passion for luxury hotels, and attention to detail, that I really admire. I am now so looking forward to meeting Grant Campbell (General Manager of the Sanderson) next week and trying their Smith & Sinclair Christmas pop up bar.
