I was so glad I did stay at The Dorchester on my last London stay. Emily (Director of Guest Relations) welcomed me back with such warmth; my Dorchester suite brought me near tears with its luxurious, but comfortable, beauty; and I was able to discuss my connections with the Qatari Royal Family with their ex-Four Seasons GM Robert.
The warmth of my welcome back; prints by HRH Prince Charles, the Japanese remote controlled toilet in the suite etc; and meeting new GM Robert, and talking to his brilliant PA Janice again, made this a 🐻🐻🐻🐻🐻🐻🐻(7 out of 5 ‘teddies’) stay at this iconic London hotel.
The Warmest of Welcomes Back When I checked in I was thrilled to be told I was being given a Dorchester suite again. It was not quite ready so I went to The Bar for a coffee. The scent of the Philip Hammond flowers in the lobby was intoxicating. While in The Bar Emily (Director of Guest Relations) came for a chat. I have never been welcomed back with such genuine warmth at a hotel. Chris Eubank & New Elevators We travelled up to my suite in one of the new elevators at The Dorchester. I met Chris Eubank in one of their old elevators. Despite their 'historical significance' the elevators needed replacing and it is good to see serious money is being spent on refurbishing The Dorchester again. My Sumptuous Dorchester Suite My Dorchester suite brought me near tears with its luxurious, but comfortable, beauty. Prints by HRH Prince Charles, a Japanese remote control toilet, four poster bed and furnishings by Alexandra Champalimaud. Opulence at its best. There was Veuve Clicquot chilling for this Branch Ambassador but I had 5 other 5 star hotels to meet. The Busy Luxury Hotel Life of #travelblog www.sifrew.com After seeing The Ned, Threadneedles Hotel, Four Seasons at Ten Trinity Square and Rosewood, London it was so good to get back to The Bar at The Dorchester. The staff there always make me feel so welcome. Back in My Gorgeous Suite Back in my suite I ordered room service while admiring my 'bed turndown' gifts. I am still using the sleep cures here in Cayman Islands. A Incredible Night's Sleep The bedroom of my suite, with four-poster bed & triple glazing, was an oasis of calm above a busy Park Lane. I got an incredible night's sleep. Meeting New GM Robert I met new GM Robert at 8:30am. Not the best time for me, after the busy day before, but I was able to discuss my connections with the Qatari Royal Family with this splendid ex-Four Seasons guy. Sad to Say Goodbye After reconnecting with so many old friends at The Dorchester, I really was sad to leave. Reception said there was no problem sending my luggage to my suite at Four Seasons at Park Lane and wishes me well at Mandarin Oriental, Hyde Park. 🐻🐻🐻🐻🐻🐻🐻(7 out of 5 ‘teddies’) - the friendly welcome back; Veuve Clicquot chilling; sumptuous suite with prints by HRH Prince Charles, a Japanese remote control toilet, four poster bed and furnishings by Alexandra Champalimaud; and GM Robert, PA Janice, Emily and other outstanding staff, broke the 'teddy score'. My tip: drink in The Bar & smell those flowers! |
