This First Class dining experience was superior to British Airways' Concorde Room dining and would be difficult to improve on. A 'seven teddy' experience, without doubt.
The Welcome Reception in the Flagship Lounge were full of smiles and made me feel so special. I was escorted though the Business Class areas to the private First Dining Room. The Flagship First Dining Room The lounge only opened the month before and the electronic door had to be wrenched open manually, which gave us all a much needed laugh. I found I was the only guest in the dining room but was disappointed they had no facilities to take my cashmere overcoat. There was a separate bar area and I was seated in a booth. Tattinger Champagne to Start Noelia got me some Tattinger champagne, as we chatted about the fact she is from Argentina but had never visited Buenos Aires. I was in shock. You Can Have it All! When I could not decide between the Classic Ceviche or the Crispy Pork Belly Empanadas Noelia suggest I just have both. A Perfect Very Dry Grey Goose Martini While these were being prepared I went to the bar where Luis made me a perfect very dry Grey Goose martini. It was such fun to chat with him. The Starters Both were good but I loved the tart prawn ceviche best with lime juice, cilantro and salsa. I guess empanadas were not a wise idea, having recently got back from Uruguay and Argentina. The Main Attraction, Fantastic Tuna My Tuna Poke with jasmine rice., diced avocado, seaweed salad, pickled cucumbers, black sesame, soy and wasabi was a perfect main course for someone intending to eat again in First Class on the plane. Light with fantastic flavours and textures. By this time Crystal from Bahamas was serving me too and we got chatting about hurricanes and the Caribbean. I adored all the friendly staff in this dining room. The End Came Quickly We then realized I was short of time. I ordered the cheese selection but only really had time to drink the double espresso that came with it. However, I will still brought a chocolate airplane to end this exceptional dining experience. 🐻🐻🐻🐻🐻🐻🐻(7 out of 5 ‘teddies’) - despite my coat not being taken, & the problems with the electronic door, Luis, Noelia and Crystal; the food and the ambiance of the place was certainly '7 teddy bear'. My tips:- talk to the staff, get a cocktail from Luis and do not be shy about order anything you want from the menu. | |
